Keep an eye out for the new kids on the block, The Queensland Party. Fully registered - one member in Qld Parliament already. Qld Party candidates = local champions! Our constitution reinforces this and does not require us to go against the wishes of our electorate to toe a party line. Fresh new committment to what the people want in their representatives.
Many of us left existing parties for the same reasons as people are turning away from politics generally - disillusioned in the power plays and lack of commitment to the job that needs desperately to be done!

For the past 20 years there has been a steady increase in the rights and civil liberties of the lawless minority while the rights and civil liberties of the law abiding majority has decreased, all under the watchful eyes of both the major parties. Criminal sentences are an insult to the already suffering victims, Sentences are supposed to reflect the expectations of the community but the only expectations that are being met at the moment are those of the offender and their legal teams. The only party that will take up the challenge to bring about change is the Queensland Party, change can happen, it just needs people to want the change.
