ANZ Job Ads April

The ANZ released their job ads data for April on Monday which shows year on year growth of 14% and seasonally adjusted month on month growth of 2.6%.

This is broadly in line with our CEO Financial Index which said employers in Queensland were more likely to hire, but that investment growth was likely to form a larger part of their expenditure as well.

Their release highlights:

  • Total job advertisements on the internet and in newspapers decreased by 1.2% in April, to be 14.9% higher than they were last April (seasonally adjusted).
  • Newspaper job ads were down by 0.7% from last month, while internet job ads were 1.3% lower in April (seasonally adjusted).
  • In trend terms, total job ads grew 2.6% MoM and 14% YoY.
